Green Built & Sustainability

What Does “Sustainable” Mean?
Simply said, sustainability is the concept of meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs.

What is a Sustainable Community?
A Sustainable Community utilizes smart design principles, innovative Green Building materials and technologies to create a neighborhood that makes a smaller footprint on the Earth, provides better indoor air quality in the homes, optimizes the synergy of community and saves you money.

What Is A Green Building?
All of our homes and the Community Building are “Green Buildings” which not only meet, but greatly exceed the rigid Colorado “Built-Green” standards. Green buildings are structures that are cost-effectively designed, built, and operated in a manner that achieves the greatest possible energy efficiency, indoor air quality, occupant health, resource efficiency, and environmental compatibility. Green buildings are important elements of sustainable communities because they promote the use of locally produced, renewable products, environmentally sound development and construction practices, and energy-and resource-efficient systems. These practices help create communities that improve the quality of life and economic vitality for current and future generations. Source:www.sbrd.org

How Our Community Promotes Sustainability:
Lyons Valley Village has an upscale Community Building to facilitate social interaction amongst residents and create more living space for residents so you don’t need a large home and extra bedroom! The Community Building offers a guest suite for visitors, a gourmet kitchen, dining area that seats 36, a sitting room/library, a laundry room, children’s play area and abundant storage.

We provide the community with an HOA structure, covenants and by-laws but the Community eventually drives the management process, rather than a costly HOA management company. This efficiency saves the community money, and it affords the residents greater decision-making ability about their own neighborhood.

Wonderland adds value in an innovative way by providing ongoing continuing education for residents on communication, conflict resolution, facilitation and ways to optimize the sustainable features within their homes.
